Acts 6:1-7

The community chose seven, “filled with the Spirit and wisdom,” and the apostles prayed and laid hands on them, commissioning them to serve.

1 Peter 2:4-9

Come to Jesus, the living stone—rejected by the world yet chosen and precious to God—and let yourselves be built into a spiritual house that proclaims his light.

John 14:1-12

Jesus says, “Do not let your hearts be troubled… I am the way and the truth and the life.” When Thomas cannot see the road ahead, Jesus points him—not to a map, but to himself, and to the works that reveal the Father.

All three readings carry one invitation: believe—and respond. In a world crowded with headlines, conflict, uncertainty, and the constant churn of opinion, Jesus still says, “Do not let your hearts be troubled.” Faith is not escape; it is steady, lived discipleship.

Acts reminds us that the Spirit forms a community that notices who is being overlooked and organizes to serve. Peter reminds us that even when we feel small, we are “living stones,” meant to build something lasting. And John reminds us that when the path feels unclear, we cling to Christ and do what we know is of him: speak truth with compassion and love, refuse despair, practice mercy close to home, and turn belief into visible works of love.
