“Led by the Spirit” – A Lenten Reflection on Temptation

Jesus did not stumble into the desert.
He was led there — by the Spirit.

Not to be abandoned, but to confront the shadows that whisper in every human heart. Temptation rarely shouts. It often comes as a suggestion, a shortcut, a subtle shift in focus.

In our own deserts — of temptation, distraction, resentment, anger, isolation — we are not alone. Christ has walked this path. He knows the silence, the hunger, the rejection,  the pull.

And He shows us that temptation itself is not sin. It is the place where we make a choice — to give in to the allurement, to a sense of pride, control or pleasure in the moment  –  or we choose to  trust, to wait, to remain a beloved daughter or son of God.

This Lent, may we enter our deserts not with fear, but with the quiet courage of Christ.
